What is required of players in these positions?
Players in these positions need to have a tough mental approach in reference to fielding the baseball. Fundamentals are very important when making the routine play. A player that has solid fundamentals will be able to continuously make the routine play and be able to react when given a “bad-hop.”
Hitters in our program need to have an unselfish approach. Our philosophy is “team” hitting. This means being able to advance base-runners to the next base as well as score runners. Balance and the ability to go the other way are our basic fundamentals.
Goals for the year?
My goals for this year’s team are to develop players for the Varsity level. Players will learn fundamentals, along with lessons they can take with them to the next level on and off the field. We would like to win the Sierra Vista JV Spring Break Tournament and our own Green Valley JV Tournament.
